Today union government took a historic step.An ordinance was passed making attacks against healthcare professionals non bailable and hefty fines and stringent punishment for the offenders. This demand had been going on for nearly a decade now. Repeated attacks on healthcare workers on frivolous grounds had broken the morale of everyone treating patients in this country. All the developed nations always had such laws in place since ages but it was lacking in India. This often made us a laughing stock in international media as well.
But today in these dreadful times of Corona epidemic this has come as a silver lining.
I thank all the people who made it happen especially our PM Modi Ji. I hope that this becomes a law in the next session of the parliament bringing relief to the medical fraternity all over the country.
